What is Discourse Analysis? This question will be addressed in this course where different interpretations and methods are be taken into consideration and scrutinized in depth. Based on the text book by Widdowson and some additional texts, we will look at and discuss different models of Discourse Analysis and will try to outline and evaluate them in terms of their usefulness for the prospective language teacher. Students are to work individually and in groups on given questions.
