This condensed interactive course will focus on aspects of English
grammar, phonetics, linguistics, and sociolinguistics. The course will
cover the parameters of the dynamism that is English. We will answer
questions like: What is the history of English? How has it evolved, and
how is it still evolving? What does English look like in the United
States? Is there a right or wrong English? Is the word “adulting” really
a word—and should it be? While the multitude of the course will focus
on learning aspects of grammar, linguistics and sociolinguistics, as a
seasoned English as a second language teacher, the course presenter will
also support students in how to turn their new knowledge of English
into compelling lessons for their future students.
